Dear Abby,

I have submitted my website (see profile) to ODP several times throughout the years, and STILL have not been able to get it listed. Of course, I don't know if it's even been reviewed, and if so, why they won't list it. The site is as good or better than many of the other sites listed in my target category (www.dmoz.org/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Furniture/Children/Bedroom/Bunkbeds/), so I don't think the relevance and/or site quality is an issue.

One of my competitors has two of their sites listed in that same category and one of the listings is just the keyword phrase "Bunk Beds", not the name of the site.

As long as Google continues to put so much weight on an ODP listing, I feel compelled to keep trying. Does anybody have any suggestions besides "offer up a blood sacrifice to the dmoz gods"? wink

Frustrated in Florida,
Lisa

Yep - stop.

Seriously - do not sweat this any more. This one link will not be the thing that makes or breaks you.

Concentrate on building unique content on the site and move forward. wink

I actually don't submit my new sites to DMOZ nay more - no point as my experiences have been just like yours... sad
