OK, I'm using a tool called LinkSurvey right now - it's fine, but I cannot figure out a way to tell it to disregard domain-based links in it's count. Namely, it includes all internal links in it's count of "inbound" links to the domain.
I can do the math, but I think the application should have the option to ignore these links in it's count.
I also recently began using Xenu's Link Slueth - fantiastic tool. I tried telling it to ignore internal links - and it appears it prettyt much jusy ignored me...LOL This one may simply be user-error, though, since I'm still new to the application.
Still scratching my head as to why it shows all the uRLs as "Untitled Documents" when every single page has individualized meta data - could this be affected by the 301's I have in place form the .asp pages of old to the new .html pages...? No biggie, this one, just a curiosity for me.
So, any suggestions for inbound link checking tools whihc can be told to ignore internal links and just report external ones pointing in?

Check the exact URL of stuff that is flagged as untitled. It is probably stuff that is redirecting (or your HTML is malformed and Xenu cannot find your <title> tag).
The "ignore URL" feature does work, but it is not intuitive, needing one more click than is obvious.

Perfect - I know pretty much all of the "Untitled Document" references I'm seeing are actually redirected (301's)- so that could very well explain that. Should be fine, though, as indexed pages show the proper titles, etc., which is really what counts. Again, I'll know more in the future when G updates the index.
I'll poke around some more and see if I can find a place to use the "ignore" function.
Thanks G1.
